111th AALS Annual Meeting

San Francisco, CA (January 7, 2017) — The Froebe Group was a proud sponsor at this year’s Annual Meeting of the Association of American Law Schools (AALS), held at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square. The event was attended by over 2,500 law professors, faculty, and legal service providers.

The three-day conference theme was “Why Law Matters.” AALS president Kellye Testy noted that now, more than ever, the case needs to be made for why law matters in American society. It is urgent and important that the academy has a clear conviction of its mission — especially in the current environment where many aspects of law are troubled. John Cribbet, then dean of the University of Illinois College of Law, wrote in a 1974 article that this is the “silent raison d’etre of legal education and the lasting claim for public and private support of the law schools.”

The conference featured over 250 discussion panels on hot-button topics such as the current state of policing and the future of transgender student rights legislation. It also presented attendees with a variety of formal and informal networking opportunities.

"We work closely throughout the year with the Wolters Kluwer legal education team," noted Tom Daughhetee, Director of Production at TFG. "Having this conference during the first week of January presents us with an amazing event where we can celebrate the success of the past year with our client, while also planning ahead for the year to come."
